Katy Perry considering stop smoking hypnotherapy
by William HobsonKaty Perry is considering stop smoking hypnotherapy after taking up the habit to deal with her pre-marital stress, claims a report in The Daily Mirror.
Perry - whose birth name was Katy Hudson before she adopted a stage name in 2006 - has been engaged to TV and tabloid celebrity Russell Brand since December 2009. The former MTV host, famous for his hedonistic lifestyle, proposed to Perry just months after meeting. The two are to marry in the near future.
The upcoming nuptials appear to be taking their toll on Perry though. The Mirror reports that the singer-songwriter of "I kissed a girl" has taken up a chain-smoking habit to deal with the stress whilst her future-husband tours his stand-up act in the US.
3am, The Mirror's celebrity gossip supplement, reports that Perry has been "puffing fag after fag" as her wedding date approaches. Conscious of the unhealthy nature of the habit and concerned over possible imitation from her younger fans, Perry is looking at hypnotherapy as a means of kicking her habit and overcoming her anxiety.
"I'm stressed out with the wedding and I keep smoking to calm my nerves," Perry told a pal. "I do it even though I know it is really bad for me and I know I need to stop."
"So I'm thinking I am going to have hypnotherapy to help me get over it. I'd never to say to kids, this is cool. It's a really bad habit that I need to quit."
