Russell Crowe struggling to quit smoking
by Laura NinehamActor Russell Crowe is trying to quite smoking but, armed with only patches, an inhaler and gum, he's having a hard time.
According to a report on Opposing Views, the Robin Hood actor has tweeted that his withdrawal symptoms include coughing and dry skin.
He wrote on his Twitter page: "Day 2 has been much harder than yesterday. My skin is really salty and I'm coughing a lot. Patches, inhaler, gum - I've got all the crutches," according to Digital Spy.
He also tweeted: "Odd subconscious things, moving ashtrays closer to me. Checking my pockets for lighters. Just have to stay with it."
Later he wrote: "Had my inhaler to hand all morning so far. Funny, been cruising it really, but today seeing smokers everywhere. Wild dreams last night."
Perhaps Crowe should join fellow celebrities Kate Moss, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Drew Barrymore who have all reportedly quit the habit thanks to stop smoking hypnotherapy.
Hypnotherapy works by relaxing your mind so that you can explore the subconscious reasons behind smoking. Many people claim they smoke because they're stressed, but hypnotherapy can help with this too. Rather than relying on self control to suppress cravings, stop smoking hypnotherapy addresses the cravings themselves. It helps patients adopt healthier behaviours for life and, because they are tackling the reason behind the addiction, a relapse is less likely.
