New Zealand man quits life-time habit with stop smoking hypnotherapy
by William HobsonA New Zealand man has stopped a 24-year old, 20-a-day cigarette habit after turning to stop smoking hypnotherapy sessions.
WVEC.com, a local and national news outlet for the oceanic country, says that Chris Bryan of Virginia Beach has put the habit to bed in 2010 thanks to hypnotherapy sessions taken at the end of 2009. Mr Bryan attended just one two-hour stop smoking hypnotherapy session on a friends recommendation, and says he hasn't smoked since.
"You have to have an open mind for it. You have to definitely want it to work" Mr Bryan told WVEC. "If you go in there and say it's not going to work, not going to work, not going to work, it's not going to work for you. If you say 'I'll be open to it,' it's going to work for you"
Mr Bryan has also recommended his local hypnotherapist, Teresa Colbert, to the other members of his friends and family who are looking to quit smoking in 2010. His wife, mother and sister all reportedly made successful attempts at kicking the habit thanks to hypnotherapy.
Mrs Colbert says explaining the benefits of stop smoking hypnotherapy sessions is a key part of their success. "I tell them 'think about it. If you didn't quit smoking, what would it look like 15 years from now? Your breathing and everything'" she said to WVEC. "Then you tell them now go 15 years forward and you have been a permanent ex-smoker and how's that and how does it feel and the health benefits and all that and the money. There's a lot of different reasons why people smoke,"
