Why Stop Smoking Hypnosis Works

So let's get one thing straight, your natural state is that of a non-smoker. As such, our job is to simply guide you back to the way you were designed to be!

And after years of experience, we've found that the most effective method to return you to your natural state of a relaxed and confident non-smoker is to work across both the conscious and unconscious parts of the mind simultaneously.

We do this using a combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Advanced Quit Smoking Hypnosis and Neuro Linguistic Programming which together provide a very powerful and complete set of therapies.

By way of background, there are three fundamental reasons why you're struggling to permanently stop smoking.

The first is because over the years, you have cultivated a set of smoking related beliefs that quite literally keep you a prisoner to that old unwanted habit.

The second is because in the moment, you put the instant gratification associated with smoking ahead of the medium and long term benefits of being a happy and healthy non-smoker.

And the third reason is because you are, by definition, a creature of habit and habits can be incredibly hard to break if you do not know how.

So our stop smoking hypnotherapy programmes are designed to tackle each of these reasons head on, ensuring that the thing that had so much control over you, easily and comfortable becomes a thing of the past.

Below we have provided a little more information for you to consider.

  • Beliefs

Whilst we do not generally think about it, our beliefs control how we think, how we feel and ultimately how we behave. They are an automatic filter through which we experience our very own subjective reality.

Think about how two people can respond so very differently when faced with a spider; one feels petrified and runs, whilst the other consciously acknowledges the spider and ignores it. How is it that two people can respond so very differently to seeing the same thing?

Quite simply, as a result of early conditioning over their formative years, one of the people believes spiders are dangerous whilst the other believes they are not. Based on the type of spider, one set of beliefs are faulty and therefore by definition, so is the response.

Now as a smoker, you will have cultivated a set of smoking related beliefs that will most probably include: it's really hard to stop smoking; smoking helps me feel somehow better; smoking is a useful punctuation during my day to help me remain calm and relaxed; and, that my nicotine addiction holds me a prisoner to my smoking habit.

Well if I too had these beliefs, I too would feel compelled to smoke. I, like you, would be struggling to walk away from this toxic habit.

But here's the thing - your smoking related beliefs are not facts (facts are facts!), they are simply a mental construct that have been created out of years of programming and conditioning and, without wishing to sound too cynical, a certain amount of profit driven misinformation and rhetoric. In short, you've fallen victim to the biggest con known to modern man.

So when was the last time you challenged your smoking related beliefs head on? When was the last time you attempted to discern the difference between a set of smoking related beliefs that are quite literally killing you and, actual fact?

During our work together, using a combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Advanced Hypnosis, we are going to help you to challenge and ultimately delete all those old outdated and erroneous smoking related beliefs once and for all.

And then we are going to help you install a new set of beliefs that will leave you feeling free and liberated as a happy and healthy non-smoker.

  • Benefits

The vast majority of the clients we treat understand the devastating impact smoking has on their health, yet in a moment of stress or with a drink, they feel powerless to stop.

The reason for this is because as a smoker, you put the immediate tangible benefits; the instant gratification associated with having a cigarette, ahead of the medium to long term benefits of being a happy healthy non-smoker.

That's not to say that you are being wilfully obtuse about the health risks of smoking. But in a moment of stress or some other emotional state you associated with smoking, unconsciously you weigh up the benefits of having some immediate gratification (by having a cigarette) with the longer term benefits of being a non-smoker - the instant gratification wins and this becomes imprinted in your unconscious as the automatic choice, the path of least resistance.

So through the use of Neuro Linguistic Programming and Advanced Quit Smoking Hypnosis, we'll help ensure that your conditioned response becomes firmly fixed on the better choice.

We'll ensure that the instant gratification you experience when you decide not to smoke is far more genuine and compelling than the perceived benefits that dirty toxic habit used to bring you.

  • Habits

The dictionary definition of the word habit is 'a thing done often, and hence, usually done easily; a recurrent, often unconscious pattern of behaviour'.

And as Samuel Johnson famously said, 'the chains of habit are generally too small to be felt until they are too strong to be broken'.

So without wishing to get into too much psychobabble, one the most relevant things about habits is that there is an incremental increase in the link between the context and the action itself, i.e. the more you smoke the more you'll think and feel like it's helping you.

So finally, through a mix of all three treatments, we will help you to identify and install a new set of habits that bring you the change of state and relief that we all seek every single day.
